Mr. Hayes is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and a Member of the American Bar Association.  He received his Juris Doctor from Indiana University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.  He is a board member of the University of Michigan Alumni Club of Greater Lansing and a student recruiter for University of Michigan.

Mr. Hayes clerked for Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Janelle A. Lawless for nearly two years.  In that time, he absorbed a vast amount of family law knowledge and experience,  with emphasis on divorce, child custody dispute and adoption.   Mr. Hayes spent time in the Ingham County Prosecutors office as well as the Washtenaw County Public Defenders Office.
